Emergency Alert Safety tips for travelers
Concerning the eruption of Mt. Asama-yama:
・On Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at approximately 10:08 p.m., a minor volcanic eruption occurred at Mt. Asama-yama, located on the border of Gunma and Nagano Prefectures.
・At 10:30 p.m. on the same day, the Volcanic Alert Level was raised to Level 3 (Do not approach the volcano). Entry to areas within a 4 km radius of the summit crater has been restricted. Please follow instructions issued by local authorities, and do not approach dangerous areas.

・Lodging facilities, tourism facilities, and public transportation outside of the restricted areas will continue to operate as usual, so tourist activities may still be carried out normally.
